Is there really such a thing as the Perfect Boat? Probably not. But it is a good idea to understand what you’d like to do with your new boat. Maybe you dream of cruising full time. Consider where those cruising grounds will be. A boat spending years in the Caribbean will require different equipment than a boat doing the snowbird route each spring and fall. Other dreamers want to be live aboards and are delighted to stay at the dock and never go anywhere. Again, this would be a specific type of boat and probably be less system intensive as you are tethered to land.
