Recent Face Time Consulting Solutions

  • We received a call that the port engine would not start or even make a clicking noise. Problem – dead battery. We toured the engine room via FaceTime and discovered a battery switch labelled PARALLEL. That is a connector switch that will parallel the starboard battery to the port battery. Success! They started the port engine. EASY! Kinda like built in jumper cables.
  • The bow thruster battery was losing voltage. After a FaceTime tour of systems aboard we discovered there is a dedicated battery charger for the bow thruster battery and for some odd reason it was turned OFF at the unit itself.
  • Air conditioner was not COOLING. Using FaceTime we toured the system. The wall panel controller showed HI P5 which means HI Pressure. This is usually caused by restricted raw water cooling flow. We checked the usual suspects and determined the water pump was running but NOT pumping water to the air conditioner condenser compressor units. Then I learn the boat was just splashed and the sea cock was NOT closed to keep the pump primed. I coached them through burping the air out of the pump and now it’s flowing water. Cool. Real COOL!
