These Sailors came over to the dark side, buying a custom Down-East Cruiser in Oxford Maryland. They asked Captain Chris to come aboard for a training delivery to her new home in Florida.

Harold and Jo found their perfect boat in MD but they live in south FL...and they are experienced ocean sailors but wanted to become more comfortable with the many systems found on a cruising power boat. They met Captain Chris at a TrawlerFest and knew this was just what they needed.

Below deck systems review was first on our list. Harold attended our Introduction to Boat Systems Seminar earlier in the year so he had a good foundation but nothing beats learning about your own boat while underway. Starting out in the mid Chesapeake Bay with a final destination of Fort Pierce FL we had plenty of opportunities to polish their navigation skills too.

These former ocean sailors sure enjoy their generator and air conditioning! Ask Captain Chris to join you aboard your new boat for a terrific training delivery.

Heading into the AICW, we pass under the first bridge in Norfolk, learning how to open a bridge when your boat won't slide under. This Railroad bridge is already up.
After exiting the Great Bridge Lock we then requested an opening for the Great Bridge Bridge...yup two bridges. There are two free docks here- one on each side of the bridge.
Starting at sunrise each morning, we make our way down the east coast via the inland waterway.
Passing through the Marine Corps Base in North Carolina we were permitted passage...this time!
Georgetown SC is a sleepy southern seaport where you can get fresh shrimp and stretch your legs on a walking tour of the historic downtown.
Sometimes you have to stop and smell the laundry! The Charleston City Marina has a convenient laundromat sharing space with a yummy restaurant. Ask for the She-crab soup while your wash tumbles dry.
