John has been an avid student of Captain Chris through boat show seminars, newsletters and following our facebook page for a few years. Now he has decided that this is the time to put words into action finally getting behind the helm of a Nordic Tug 42…with the help of Captain Chris. (scroll down for video and more photos)
Inviting Captain Chris to join John and his cousin for training, this was a real guys trip along the Sarasota coast of Florida. A few days of learning about how to handle a single engine boat included understanding all the systems, electronics and navigation requirements to have fun and be safe. Hands-on aboard this boat allowed practice with RADAR, GPS chart plotter, inverter, generator, bow and stern thrusters. That’s enough to keep everyone happy! Even the deck hand appreciates docking with ease using a combination of basic seamanship and the latest technology when you come into a new marina.
