Because it is a catamaran and has two hulls we explored both propulsion engine rooms and the generator. Locating the air conditioner water pump was a challenge, finally discovering it by accident in the aft part of the port hull. It is so important to learn where everything is BEFORE you need it…or need to repair it!
This 44 foot boat has a wide beam of nearly 19 feet putting the twin engines far apart. Because of the great distance between the props no bow thruster is needed. With a little practice you can spin this boat on a dime, aim it into a dock and tweak in between the finger piers with no trouble.
Docking was easy and so was our anchoring drill using two rope chain snubbers, one from each hull keeping the boat straight and no chain shock on the anchor capstan.
