Welcome to living the dream on Sandy Hook...

Arriving the night before to have dinner aboard with us, our new cruisers are well rested before we start training in the morning. So much to learn and so much fun to experience in just 4 days on the waterways of the Treasure Coast.

Here’s a few snapshots that chronicle our journey cruising on the SANDY HOOK.... Are you ready to start living the dream?

Welcome aboard!
Captain Chris details the possibilities. Charts are reviewed and we make our plans...weather dependant of course!
No, it's not a craps game in the saloon...we are checking out the inverter...What's an inverter? you say...Come aboard with Captain Chris and learn all about the power management on a cruising trawler.
All the fluids check out A-OK! Pretty soon you know your way around the ABCs of engines.
Pretty neat having the bridge open upon our request via VHF radio. Running through the Roosevelt bridge in Stuart against a strong current can be a challenge.
Spend as much time learning at the helm as you wish...
.....or not! Sometimes the call of a power nap is just too strong to ignore. The gentle rocking can lull you right to sleep.
Captain Chris is teaching hand signals that make communications a snap when anchoring.
The wind can blow us sideways out of the channel so line up carefully with your channel markers at the bow and astern.
Are you paying attention?
Translations in progress...We carefully watch for clues and are at the ready to shift forward, reverse or spin right or left when picking up the anchor.
During docking practice, sometimes you are at the wheel and then....
....sometimes you are on the walk around decks handling lines. Both roles are important and we teach you the tricks and tips needed to have a safe yet fun cruise.
At anchor- sunset is a favorite lingering moment.
Ready for a dinghy ride to the beach?
Here we go! The ocean is just on the other side of this cove.
Mmmmmmm. Smell the steaks on the grill?
Learning about safety equipment isn't all gloom and doom.
Trying on the Gumby suit...But Gumby is green!?!
Can I have this one?... After spending so much time aboard with us this couple asked to squeeze in a visit with broker Curtis Stokes to check out a few different types of boats. They now know what to look for in a cruising yacht.
